Brian Spett is a Designer & Director, Creative & Technical Producer, and Entertainment Technologist recently relocated to Los Angeles, previously residing in Brooklyn.
He holds a ABJ in Telecommunication Arts & New Media from The University of Georgia in Athens, GA – the town in which he also stumbled into the music business and got thrown on a tour bus one night with zero notice.
He never looked back, and after a decade on the road working on six continents, he now works in a variety of Design and Creative roles across multiple visual mediums including stage, screen, and live events.
Credits include Nas, Lil Wayne, Dead & Company, David Byrne’s American Utopia, Vampire Weekend, Lil Nas X, , Christina Aguilera, Vince Staples, Nicki Minaj, LCD Soundsystem, T-PAIN, UniverSoul Circus, Gym Class Heroes, Tame Impala, 30 Seconds To Mars, Lorde, Maluma, Shania Twain, Kaskade, Ratatat, and Drive-By Truckers among others.
Film projects include Spike Lee’s film of David Byrne’s American Utopia, Vox Lux and Pitch Perfect 2. He is also often found working with music guests on late night television and SNL. Clients for experiential / event work include Red Bull Music, Spotify, Yuga Labs, and Slack.
He is the recipient of a Primetime Emmy Award for Best Lighting Design / Direction for a Television Special.
